Protect yourself on Public Wi-Fi

     Many people expose their data and security information when using public Wi-Fi, and are not even aware of it. When using the open Wi-fi at a coffee shop, restaurants, libraries we have to keep in mind that everyone else who owns a Wi-Fi capable device can connect to the network, and this person might not be there for legit reasons. What happens is that public Wi-Fi spots usually make no use of passwords, which means that the information exchanged among your computer and the network can be floating aroung unencrypted. One way of protecting the wireless network would be setting a passoword on your wireless  router to encrypt the information. However, it would be safe if only known and trusted users had access to the key to the network, because whoever have access to the password will be capable of snuffing around if wanted to. Using your email or bank account, viewing documents or important information are things we naturally do when online, and on public Wi-Fi all that could be compromised. Being aware of what is happening around us is extremely important, specially when the threaten can not be seen.
